Letter to Lawmakers: Stand Firm Against Cap-and-Trade

Dear Members of the 83rd Oregon Legislative Assembly,

The latest proposal to fund the transportation budget and wildfire mitigation and prevention fund is misguided. I hope that you will protect Oregon taxpayers like me and stand firm against cap-and-trade.

Cap-and-trade has proven to be very harmful to consumers and businesses, especially small businesses, in places where it has been implemented.

Oregon is projected to collect record tax revenue in the next biennium. We do not need more taxes and revenue scams like cap-and-trade to plug budget holes.

Oregon’s businesses and taxpayers are already fleeing the state due to high taxes and burdensome regulations. Cap-and-trade would accelerate the exodus.

Oregonians made their voices heard on cap-and-trade five years ago. We have not changed tune.

Please protect me and my fellow Oregonians by standing firm against cap-and-trade.
