This Lockean concept, expressed in the Declaration of Independence, is fundamental to American governance. Unfortunately, Oregon has become a state where the right to life, liberty, and property is under constant threat from those who wish to live outside the law as well as from government itself.

By restoring safety to Oregon, Oregonians can live in peace once more. A safer Oregon carries out justice to the fullest extent of the law, shielding Oregonians from crime as well as the heavy hand of an unjust government.

Policies guided by safety

• Enact due justice for infringements of the right to life, liberty, and property;
• Protect rights found in the U.S. Constitution and Oregon Constitution; and
• Properly balance punishment with rehabilitation and redemption.
